Cross-body Bag with Stripes

Materials:
  • size J (6mm) crochet hook
  • Red Heart Super Saver yarn (or any worsted weight yarn): Buff, Warm Brown, Soft White, Gold
  • yarn needle


Instructions:

BAG
You will be working in continuous rounds.
With strands of Buff and Warm Brown held together, ch 36.
Rnd 1: 2sc in second chain from hook, sc in each of next 33 chains, 2sc in last chain. Working on the opposite side of the chain, 2sc in first ch, sc in each of next 33 chains, 2sc in last ch.
Rnd 2: 2sc in first sc, sc in each of next 35 sc, 2sc in each of next 2 sc, sc in each of next 35 sc, 2sc in next sc.
Rnds 3-4 (2 rounds): Sc in each st around.
Fasten off Buff and Warm Brown.
Attach Buff and Soft White by pulling up a slip stitch through the last two loops of the last sc stitch worked.
Rnds 5-9 (5 rounds): Sc in each st around.
Rnd 10: Hdc in each st around.
Rnd 11: (2dc in next st, dc2tog)around.
Rnd 12: Hdc in each st around.
Rnds 13-17 (5 rounds): Sc in each st around.
Fasten off Buff and Soft White.
Attach Buff and Gold by pulling up a slip stitch through the last two loops of the last sc stitch worked.
Repeat rounds 10-12.
Fasten off Buff and Gold.
Attach Buff and Soft White by pulling up a slip stitch through the last two loops of the last sc stitch worked.
Repeat rounds 5-17.
Fasten off Buff and Soft White.
Attach Buff and Warm Brown by pulling up a slip stitch through the last two loops of the last sc stitch worked.
Work 3 rounds sc in each st around.
Sl st in next st, ch 1. Work 1 round in reverse sc.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

STRAP
With strands of Buff and Soft White held together, ch 176.
Working in back loops of ch, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.
Rows 2-3 (2 rows): Ch1, turn. Sc in each sc across.
Fasten off Buff and Soft White.
Attach Soft White and Warm Brown by pulling up a slip stitch through the last two loops of the last sc stitch worked.
Rows 4-5 (2 rows): Ch1, turn. Sc in each sc across.
Fasten off.
Sew strap to sides of bag using the yarn needle and weave in ends.
