Ox Amigurumi Pattern

size I crochet hook (or any size hook that results in a stitch tight enough that stuffing won't show through)

Dec1 = Insert hook in next stitch and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook). Now, insert hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook. [1 stitch has been decreased]

Embroider nostrils in the shape of an equal sign (=) using main color or color of your choice.

EARS:
Make 2.

Sl st in next st.
Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn for sewing.

TAIL:
Using main color, ch7.
Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in remaining 5 chains.
Fasten off, leaving a short tail of yarn for sewing.
Thread 2 short strands of the accent or hoof color (hint: reuse scraps) through the end of the tail where the 2nd ch was skipped and knot to create tail tuft.
MANE/MOHAWK:
Using accent or hoof color, *ch5.
Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in remaining 3 chains.
Repeat from * 4 times.
Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn for sewing.

LONG HORNS:
Make 2.
Using horn color of your choice, start with a magic ring.
Ch1, 4 sc in ring.
Sc in ea st around.
(2 sc in next st, sc in next st)twice. (6)
Sc in ea st around for 3 rounds.

Sc in next 3 sts, sl st in next st, ch1, turn.
Sc in next 3 sc, sl st in next st, ch1, turn.

SHORT HORNS:
(worked same as for ears with one extra round)

Using horn color of your choice, start with a magic ring.

Sl st in next st.
Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn for sewing.

EYE WHITES:
Make 2.
Using white, ch2.
5 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2 sc in ea st around. (10)

Sl st in next st.
Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn for sewing.

PUPILS:
Make 2.
Using black, start with a magic ring.
Ch1, 5 sc in ring.

ASSEMBLY:

Sew pupils to center of eye whites.
Sew head to body, and use additional stuffing as needed.
Sew legs and arms to body, stuffing lightly.
Sew tail to rear of body.
Stuff muzzle with the stray ends of yarn and sew to head.
Sew eyes to head, on either side of muzzle.
Sew mohawk/mane to top of head.
Sew horns to sides of head and sew the ears just below the horns.

Sew propeller blades to the fastened off end of the hull.
Sew 3 windows to each side of the hull.
Sew the conning tower to the top of the submarine.
Sew the periscope to the top center of the conning tower.

Sew one fin to top of orca.
Sew one fin to either side of orca, beneath eyespots.
Sew two fins to the rear of the orca to create the tail.
